The Nuvo jHorn is a plastic instrument that comes with three different lip plates to allow for trying different instruments. It weighs 4.2 lbs and depending on the thickness of the cork on the trumpet mutes, they could fit in the bell. Customers have had mixed experiences with the product. Some found it enjoyable to play and great for exercising their chops, while others found it unplayable or a toy that could teach atypical playing habits. The Nuvo jHorn is not recommended for beginners as it is difficult to get a sound out and goes out of tune beyond the first octave. A customer recommended using a spare trombone mouthpiece instead of the supplied plastic mouthpieces. The durability and portability, as well as the ability to switch the keys from Bb to C, were praised. The jHorn is a low-cost alternative to learning basic horn skills. However, it is not suitable for serious brass players, and it is recommended that beginners move on to entry-level trumpets or euphoniums.
