The Optoma HD26 1080p 3D DLP Home Theater Projector boasts of a 3200 lumens brightness and 25000 to 1 contrast ratio which makes the picture quality amazing. Previous users wrote about the ease of set up and the adjustability of focus through the controls as well as the vertical and horizontal shift on the menu (however there is no mention of the shift amplitude). The noise level was noted to be low and minimal, which is a plus although some reviewers noted a Constant buzzing sound even when the projector is turned off. This device has great brightness suitable for use in bright rooms, but preferably in dark environments for outdoor use. The HD26 was pitted against the HD141X, it had better specs, and reviewers also had better feedback about the HD26 compared to HD141X. From previous comments about reliability, the lamps hold strong for years with no complications. However, the image display after some time of use could start making a ruckus due to its color wheel, and the customer service team isn't supportive and is more concerned about selling their overpriced servicing options. The price of this projector has increased rapidly over time, and compared to new modern ones with similar specs, the price hike seems unjustifiable, but the Optoma HD26 still produces great images nonetheless, as there are no significant improvements in the industry.
