The HC-12 is a wireless transmitter and receiver device that operates at 433MHz for serial communication. It is easy to set up and program using serial communication and has a great price. It connects directly to an Arduino and transmits straight to another unit. The device works super far; however, the communication range has not been tested. Users need to have some background knowledge in programming, but it is not very complicated. It is easy to hook up the device because it uses only two data pins. Documentation is available by searching "HC-12 code example" or "HC-12 Arduino." HC12 has excellent distance, operates in fixed (pass-thru) mode at default 9600 8N1, and works well with 1N4007 diode and a 220uF capacitor for VCC and GND pins. Its range can improve by lowering bit rates, but it cannot change powers to do so. Users cannot use HC-12 as a Bluetooth Audio receiver.
