The Danco 88434 Diverter Spout is a metal tub spout with a 12-inch slip connection that is designed for copper stub out pipes without threads. The product comes with a little roll of PTFE, plumbers tape. It has a simple installation process that involves cleaning the copper pipe with sandpaper and placing recommended plumbers' grease on one inch of the pipe before sliding the spout on. The product is not intended for use with PVC pipes. However, some users reported that this product corroded and leaked with time. Additionally, it has a metal exterior that is prone to scratches, and one buyer struggled with installation. On the positive side, some users found it to be a perfect replacement for their older version, easy to install and resulted in quieter showers, and a good fit.
