SE GP2-14 Stackable Classifier is a light but sturdy sifter that comes in a 1/8" and 1/4" pan. It is perfect for sifting compost for seed starting, worm castings out of a worm bin, and dredging samples of creek sediment, mud soils, and river stones. Customers have found it to be excellent for sifting sand on the beach, for sifting soil for sapphires, and for filtering the dust from wood pellets. If used with dry compost, it sifts well, but if the compost is too wet, the wire gets coated with compost making it clog up. Customers suggest brushing off the wires with gloves, instead of banging the sifter against hard surfaces. The bottom inch of the sifter sits loosely inside a 5-gallon bucket, making it easy to put on and take off. In terms of size, customers suggest that a 1/30 or 1/50 size mesh may be suitable for mealworm sifting.
