Answer: Our lights are not plug-in design, it has a battery box and requires 3 AA batteries (batteries not included) -

Answer: The lights and Maple Garland are separate, you can separate or match as you like. There are two strings of leaf garlands, one string of lights. -

Do they have a timer or is it just an on/off button?
Answer: Yes, the light string has a built-in timer. It automatically turns on for 6 hours, then turns off for 18 hours, repeating the cycle. You can manually control it as well. -
Question:
Do these lights have an auto shut off timer or not?
Answer: Yes, according to the instructions, the lights have a built-in timer. They will run for 5 hours and then shut off automatically.
