Bunun üzerine Seydi Ali Reis seyahatini kaleme alır ve Mirat'ül Memalik (Memleketlerin Aynası) adlı eser ortaya çıkar. Kütahyalı Evliya Çelebi (1611-1682) ise elli yıl kadar Osmanlı topraklarını dolaşır. Gezip gördüklerini Seyahatname adlı eserinde toplar. Evliya Çelebi'nin on ciltlik Seyahatnamesi, dolaştığı yerler hakkında önemli bilgiler verir. Bu eser Türk Kültür tarihi açısından önemli bir yere sahiptir. Yazılan bu eserler o dönemin aynası gibidir. Kültür sözlü ya da yazılı olarak gelecek nesillere aktarılır. Sözlü kültürün hiçbir şey karışmadan aslını koruyarak sonraki nesle aktarılabilmesi çok zordur. Hatta imkansızdır da denilebilir.
